Squid Game has taken the world by storm. The Korean thriller is a battle-royale-like competition, only its indebted participants are forced to play children's games in a life or death game for an insane amount of prize money.

The show's main character is played by Lee Jung-jae or better known as participant 456. Seung Gi-hun, the name of participant 456 begins his Squid Game in more or less chipper spirits and ends the game as a truly broken man.

Seung Gi-hun who is a poor chauffeur who suffers from a bad gambling addiction is persuaded to play in the games when he meets a nice and rich salesman in a train station. The salesman, played by Gong Yoo offers Gi-hun the chance to win money and leaves him a card with a number one the back.

However, Gi-hun doesn't know he'll be playing with his life.

And here is what we meant by spoilers. If you haven't seen season 1 then back out now, because this is your last warning. Spoilers! In the end, you learn that player 001, who befriended participant 456 was our games architect all along. And after all these years of watching his games, he thought he'd participate one time before he died.
