Maybe don't operate any heavy machinery for a while. Or do, who are we to say?
Seriously, we post memes for a living. We rub them onto our gums when no one is looking just to catch a cheap buzz that makes us feel ever-so-briefly alive. Then reality comes crashing in again like a hangover on a Monday afternoon and we reach for our next dose of dankness.
It's like a drug: Recognize the format. Read the text. Understand the relationship between the format and what the text is alluding to. Understand the humor. Laugh! Well, maybe not laugh. After all, even when we text our friends LOL we are really just staring emptily into a blank screen that represents what we really feel on the inside. Nothing. But then we scroll, and read another meme. Same process. Still no laughter. On and on forever. Like a drug. And yet we keep scrolling.
