Long before hydroponics, fancy tents, and humidifiers became pricy essentials for anyone looking to cultivate their own weed, growing pot used to be a whole lot more simple. Just as these old-timey folks, who managed to get stoned using nothing but a little help from Mother Nature... and probably someone's cool older brother who somehow knows about these things.

From a glimpse at a '60s hippie commune to what may be the first color photo of cannabis plants ever snapped in the early 1900s, here are 23 old-school photos of OG pot farmers.
