Are any of you guys paying attention to, you know, the law?

At this point, it’s pretty understandable to have little faith in the government. They’ve been fucking things up for hundreds of years; you really expect them to get their shit together now?

However, I think it’s fair to expect them to have at least *basic* competency. Sure, they may not be able to get dressed themselves, or even know exactly where they are, but so long as they can face forward and raise their hand, we can keep going through the motions that we’re being led by people who, at bare minimum, are pretending to have a handle on the future of our country.

But, it seems like they can’t even do that. Government officials keep getting caught showing up, then not paying attention to the ostensibly very important work that they’re doing. Earlier this week, a state senator was spotted using a goddamn iPad coloring book app instead of participating in discussions around a gun control bill, and now, there’s another one — Rep. Chad Clifford of Colorado was watching Netflix instead of paying attention to bill negotiations.

C’mon, guys! At least *act like* you give a shit!
