Trees can be worth a lot of money. If you think about it, it makes sense: Trees take forever to grow, and if you’re a landscaper in search of the perfect tree, you don’t want to wait 30 years to see if the one you planted actually looks the way you want it to.

That said, tree theft is *relatively* rare — which is why it’s so shocking, and a little funny, when it actually happens.

This man was shocked to check his security cameras and discover that someone had taken his adorable little tree, loaded it onto an e-bike (how eco-friendly!) and then drove away with it.

Everyone seemed shocked by the whole thing, especially because the thief didn’t think about the fact that people were going to get suspicious of his new tree that looks exactly like the one that just got stolen.

In the end, he was caught, and the tiny tree was returned. Who doesn’t love a happy ending?
