The city of Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan is a pretty diverse place, home to everything from beautiful mosques and churches to restaurants with names like “Classic Rock Coffee.”

Given this diversity, it’s understandable that the city would be home to a variety of holiday celebrations. This holiday celebration went wrong after too many people tried to get onto a moving walkway at once (and nobody took the time to make sure the end of the walkway was clear). As a result, there was a major pileup of mascots, people in costume and all sorts of other characters.
