We still haven’t worked out exactly how to punish teenagers for crimes. We can all agree that a teenager who has done something wrong should deserve *some* punishment, and that the punishment should account for their limited ability to make judgments given their age. But how much that should matter in the actual punishment is a hotly debated topic.
In some places, they resolve the issue by changing the form of punishment used. Instead of going to prison, for example, you might go to an educational center. Or, instead of spending a night behind bars, you might have to hit some squats, as this cop made these misbehaving kids do.
